Earth Day

We illustrated our poem for the month of April, called Earth Day. Earth Day is actually on April 22nd, but we try and take care of the Earth everyday of the year! Here are the words to our April poem:

Earth Day

I'm proud to wear my Earth Day badge.
I give the Earth a hand.
I pick up litter, care for trees,
Recycle what I can.
I am an Earth Day helper,
Each and every day.
I take care of our Mother Earth,
In oh, so many ways.

X is for...

We had a hard time thinking of different words that begin with X, so we decided it would be ok to draw any word that has an X inside of it.

Name Poems

This week, we talked about Acrostic Poems. We used our names to make an acrostic poem, and found stamps that begin with the same letter as our name.

O is for...

This week's letter was O. Students drew pictures of different O words in Kidpix during computer center.

St. Patrick's Day

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, we learned a short song that goes like this:

St. Patrick's Day is here!
St. Patrick's Day is here!
Let's give a clap,
And dance a jig,
St. Patrick's Day is here!

We illustrated our songs in computer lab using Kidpix. We made rainbows, pots of gold, and added shamrocks to decorate our pictures.

I is for...

I is for iris! Students drew pictures of different words that begin with the letter I in this week's computer center.

Rainy Day

The poem for March is called Rainy Day. We used Kidpix to make our pictures of a child holding an umbrella. We have been learning a lot about weather this month. Here are the words to our poem:

Rainy Day

Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
I'll stay inside today.
Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
I'll call a friend to play.
Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
I know my friend will say.
Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
We'll have fun today!
