St. Patrick's Day

To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, we learned a short song that goes like this:

St. Patrick's Day is here!
St. Patrick's Day is here!
Let's give a clap,
And dance a jig,
St. Patrick's Day is here!

We illustrated our songs in computer lab using Kidpix. We made rainbows, pots of gold, and added shamrocks to decorate our pictures.

Rainy Day

The poem for March is called Rainy Day. We used Kidpix to make our pictures of a child holding an umbrella. We have been learning a lot about weather this month. Here are the words to our poem:

Rainy Day

Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
I'll stay inside today.
Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
I'll call a friend to play.
Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
I know my friend will say.
Plip! Plop! Raindrop!
We'll have fun today!

Z is for...

This week's letter of the week was Z. We had to learn a bunch of new Z words, such as a zeppelin, zebrafish, and a zinnia. Students illustrated their favorite Z word using Kidpix.

Rhymes

To celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday this week, we've been reading many of Dr. Seuss' famous stories including, The Cat in the Hat, Fox in Socks, and Green Eggs and Ham. For computer center this week, students had to match up two pictures that rhyme with each other. We used Kidspiration to drag and drop pictures so that pairs would be rhyming words. Here is one finished example of today's lesson:

All students completed the project correctly and matched up the rhyming pairs of pictures! Great job everyone!

D is for...
