This week, our computer lab session was to complete a math extension activity. We practiced writing and illustrating different addition sentences using Kidpix stamps. Students chose their own stamp designs and also chose how many stamps to put of each. Then they used number and symbol stamps to write the addition sentence. They completed three different sentences. Great job!
Our January poem of the month is called, The Snowman. We illustrated our poems in computer lab using Kidpix. Here is the poem:
The Snowman
One cold and quiet winter day I made a snowman fat. His eyes were coal, his hat was Dad's, My sister thought of that! I got a carrot for his nose, A broom for him to hold, I wrapped my scarf around his neck, To keep him from the cold!
This week we read stories about Santa and talked about how Santa delivers gifts to children who have been good. We learned how to write a friendly letter and wrote three reasons why we have been good this year. We also told Santa what we wished for this year. We tried our best to sound out our letters and we remembered to use spaces between our words!
This week in computer lab, we illustrated our December poem called, "First Day of Winter." Here are the words of the poem:
First Day of Winter Fall has fallen Winter rises. Now's the time For cold surprises. Icicles' long pointed noses, Flakes like daisies, diamonds, roses, Snow up to the windowill And everything so very still.
